From meal to Food Review
Start fast.
Build a history you can use.
Eight input paths get the meal into your diary. Your corrections make it reflect the plate, and that same saved detail powers goals, longer trends, deeper food insights, Food Reviews, and PDF.
From input to saved meal
The entry becomes more useful as you confirm what the app could not know from the first input.
- 01 Meal draft
A photo or description can recognise visible foods and suggest amounts. It cannot measure exact grams or see every oil, sauce, or hidden ingredient.
- 02 Ingredients
Add, remove, or rename foods when the first interpretation does not match the plate or package.
- 03 Portions
Correct quantities, units, grams, or meal share. Calories and macronutrients update with the revised entry.
- 04 Data availability
GI, glycemic load, and FODMAP fields appear only when the underlying food data is available. Missing does not mean low or zero.
What the saved detail unlocks
- Calories and macros
- Review meal and daily energy, protein, carbohydrate, and fat against targets that you can edit.
- Protein and wider nutrition
- See which ingredients supplied the protein, follow the longer trend, and keep fibre plus other available nutrition in view.
- FODMAP, GI, and GL
- Where data exists, review a categorical FODMAP flag, higher-FODMAP ingredients, and GI with a portion-aware glycemic load. These are food insights, not personal-response predictions.
- Packaged-product provenance
- Barcode entries retain the provider source, licence, and product link whenever those details are supplied.
- Food Reviews and PDF
- Weekly and monthly reviews organise the pattern beyond one day. Completed reviews can be opened as a PDF to keep or use in a nutrition conversation.
What changes when you edit
- Calories and macronutrients
- Values that depend on quantity are recalculated or scaled when you correct the logged amount.
- Glycemic load
- When GI and carbohydrate data are available, GL uses the available carbohydrate in the logged portion. Changing the portion changes GL; GI itself stays the same.
- FODMAP category
- The app shows low, moderate, or high categories when data is available. It does not show a numeric dose or calculate your personal tolerance from grams.
Clarity that protects the value
- Your corrections lead. The saved meal stays editable, so recognised foods and estimated quantities never have to be the final word.
- Unknown stays unknown. An unavailable GI, GL, or FODMAP field is not silently turned into a reassuring zero.
- Food insight stays in context. GI, GL, and FODMAP describe the recorded food; they do not diagnose or replace a personal clinical plan.
- The report supports a better conversation. Use the meal history and Food Review PDF to bring clearer evidence to a dietitian or clinician, while they interpret symptoms and treatment context.
One correction keeps paying off
Review recognised foods, portions, units, and hidden ingredients once. The corrected meal then feeds today, 7- and 30-day trends, protein guidance, deeper FODMAP and glycemic context where available, and the next Food Review.
Capture the meal. Keep the useful detail.
Start in seconds, improve the record, and let the history become more valuable over time.
